2005 Southeastern: April 2 - April 10,
2005
’05 Southeastern
Mrs. Booshway (Pat)
Only six months from now, the JLR will be hosting
the Southeastern at Dixie Plantation, about 13 miles east of Monticello. It’s
a beautiful site with plenty of room.
As most of you all know, Charlie Powell is Booshway for this event. I don’t
know where I was when he was elected Booshway, but I do know I was not around
at the time!! Other staff members are: Jan Winans, Segundo; Duane Ashe, Scribe;
Dave Anderson, Clerk; Gary Tehan, Aide de Camp; Bob Pryor, Gun Range Captain;
Deni Bloomquist, Archery Range Captain; Bob Sherman, Hawk and Knife Range Captain;
Rita Lurvey, Gate Captain; William Wilson is Captain of whatever we need.
Many seminars and activities are being planned, along with some great prizes.
The event will be April 2 to 10, so mark your calendars.
We can only have access to the property one week before the event, which means
we are going to need all the help we can get to get everything ready on time.
Anything that can be prefabricated is the order of the day.
We are looking forward to having a great voo, and expect a great turn-out. We
are also asking everyone to donate two hours time during the voo so everyone
has time to have fun. Remember, it wouldn’t be a voo, without you.

2004 Rendezvous & Squirrel Camp- (Nov 11-14, 2004)- info
The Ochlockonee River Rendezvous:
The Jefferson Longrifles hold The Ochlockonee River Rendezvous once a year at Grey Fox Farm in Tallahassee. Here the club gathers, along with special guests and friends, for a week of primitive camping and activities. This festive event includes a variety of competitive games and challenges, such as archery and black powder woods walks, hawk and knife throwing competitions, women's games of skill and children's games. The final evening of the 'vous culminates in a splendid camp feed for rendezvous participants, with a main course being a whole pig cooked on site in a huge pit full of coals by Jackie Shaffer. The evenings meal ends with a raffle drawing for many wonderful prizes which are made or donated by club members, including a black powder rifle.
Many thanks go out to William and Kathryn Wilson for their support, as well as allowing the use of their land for the 'vous and other club related activities.
THE 2004 CLUB RENDEZVOUS IS FEBRUARY19-22.
