JLR AUGUST 2005 MINUTES:   DRAFT  (AUGUST 4, 2005)

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 Pm by President Jackie Shaffer

 

Roll Call: Jackie and Johnny Shaffer, William Wilson (brought supper and left) Dave Ikenberry, Jim DenBleyker, Duane Ashe, Ron Dod, John Cole, Ken Morris, Cathy Morris, Gary Tehan, Terry, Healey, Laurie Ashe, Craig Engle.

 

Minutes for July were reviewed.  Duane motioned that minutes be accepted and Jim 2nd the motion. Motion was carried.

 

Cleanup: Gary T.

 

Presidents Report: Jackie reported that she is much better since her surgery.

July Work Day Report: Ken reported that there was a general clean up of the shoot site and building area.

 

Old Business:

 

August Work Day will be Aug 14. Cutting firewood will be the priority.  Meet at 9:00 am

 

New Members: Ron Witt and John Luebbert have applied for membership.  We will vote on their applications at the September Club Meeting.

 

Youth Day: John Cole reported that Youth Day is October 1, 2005, a Saturday.  Youth Day will be at Tall Timbers.  John is looking for volunteers.  John reported that JLR event was a big hit with the kids last year.

 

Squirrel Camp: Craig gave a report on the plans for the Squirrel Camp.  He will contact William or Kathrine to make arrangements for the Hooters.  Dwayne volunteered to mow the site.  Craig requested someone volunteer to make flyers to be handed out at the Eastern which is September 23 advertising the Squirrel Camp and the Club Rendezvous in 2006 and another flyer that could be given to people locally.

 

Squirrel Camp Feed was discussed.  Craig stated he would like the feed to be geared more around squirrel dishes.  Most everyone agreed.  Several members also mentioned covered dish and venison.

 

Giving money for prizes was discussed.  Duane made a motion that $150 be given for prizes, John 2nd the motion.  Motion was carried.

 

New Business:

 

Everyone agreed it was good to have Jackie back.

 

Dave I. asked for guidance on obtaining prizes for the 2006 Club Rendezvous.  Jackie stated that the club will give some money.  Suggestions from other members were given for obtaining other prizes.  Dave was also given ideas for games, contests, raffle, etc.

 

Date for 2006 Club Rendezvous: Will be either the week after the Trade Faire and if no Trade Faire the date will be decided at our next monthly meeting.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 7:31 pm.

BeBe is back in his house.  Has power and water.

 

Jackie reported that Nancy and Art Ayotte’s son, Alex, lost everything in the flood due to Hurricane Dennis. Jackie is taking donations to send him. $50.00 was collected
