October 5, 2006 JLR Meeting

Mbrs present: Pam Bradley, Dave Ikenberry, Jim Denbleyker, William Wilson, Kenn and Cathy Morris, Deni Bloomquist, Gary Tehan, Dave Anderson, Ron Dodd, Bob Pryor, Charlie Powell, Jan Winans, Terry Healy, and Roger Whitt.

 Called to Order at 7:00 PM

 Clean Up: Gary Tehan

 September Minutes: Minutes were sent out in email to members and copies provided at the meeting.  Jim D. made a motion that minutes be approved as read with Gary T. 2nd motion.  Motion was carried with one “ney”.

 President Report: No Report.

 Vice President Report: Deni turned in Shoot Report.  Report will be forwarded to B. Guris to be posted on our website.

 Treasurer Report:

  Dave reported that he has paid $146.50 for targets but will be reimbursed by Jan.  Balance is $1150.66.  He has a $100 to deposit and the insurance bill is in and is $609

   Need for a money maker was mentioned.  Everyone be thinking on this for future meetings.

  Dave would like to get a newsletter out to the club members before Squirrel Camp.  Please send him articles (Tall Timbers report, 2006 Eastern Report, information for Squirrel Camp)


Secretary Report: No report. 

  
OLD BUSINESS:

 Tall Timbers: Jim D. reported that it was a big success.  Probably over 200 youth.  About 400 rounds were shot.  Thanks to all who participated.  Sounded like they had a great time.

 2007 Club Rendezvous:

  Rendezvous Wish List: A copy of the list was forwarded to members before Monthly Meeting.   Please contact her and let her know what you would like to help with.

  Deni made one change.  Buck will be helping with the archery.

  Prizes: Everyone in the club is asked to donate at least one item to be used for prizes or the raffle.  Homemade/period items are preferred. Contact Dave I. and let him know what you will be donating.  Please do this as soon as possible.

  Date of Rendezvous: William reported that he had talked to Smiley Joe, Bill and Rita and several other members who live out of the area about coming to the rendezvous.  It would be better for them if the rendezvous was moved to the Trade Faire time slot.  Deni made a motion that the 2007 Club Rendezvous be moved up one week, Terry H. 2nd the motion.  Motion was carried unanimously.  Set up will be Wednesday, February 14 and Rendezvous starts February 15, 2007.

 2006 Eastern Rendezvous: William and Deni reported that the rendezvous was cool and wet.

 Scout Camporee Weekend of 3-5 November:

  Ron D. reported that he had a list of items from Heinz Bartell regarding the camporee.  He gave William the list.  Ron stated that it was expected that at least 100 scouts would be attending.

  William asked him to remind the scouts that they needed to come out and split some wood for their camps.

 New Business:

 Increase In Fees for Rendezvous: A reminder from Pat P. via email that as of January 1, national rendezvous will be an additional $10.  If you pre-register before Jan 1 you will save $10.

 MNLRA COMPETITION: Dave I. reported the club has received a request from MNLRA to host a DISTRICT MUZZLELOADER COMPETITION.  Dave A. will review the information and give the club more information at the next meeting.

 Monthly Shoot: Sunday, October 8:   Also a work day: Meet at 9:00.  Wood needs to be split and the water tank needs draining.

 THIS SHOOT IS THE LAST QUALIFIER FOR THE YEAR!!!!!

 Large Tent: William reports that he will be selling the large tent he used at the Trade Faire.  Tent would make a good place for members to meet and play cards, socialize, etc.  Be thinking about this.  Will be discussed at a future meeting whether the club could use this tent.
