MEETING

Called to Order about 7:15 PM

Roll Call: Jan Winans, Craig Engle, John Cole, Ron Dod, William Wilson, Dave Ikenberry, Dave Anderson, Charlie Powell, Roger Whitt, Gary Tehan, and Terry Healy

Clean up: Jan Winans

Minutes for July were motioned and seconded and accepted.   (The President was also the secretary right now.)

President stated we still did not have a Secretary, and asked, well pleaded, for any volunteers.   Ron Dod got motioned and seconded before the motioned was even finished.  Then at a senior moment, a really big senior moment, the writer then forgot to decline the nomination with PICK ONE; 1.  pending leg amputation,  2.  embezzlement investigation,  3. girl friend calling wife,  4.  senility (well that is not really relevant), or  5.  future vacation in Tahiti.  Anyway, the motion was passed unanimously.  I deny all allegations that I volunteered.

Charlie made a motion for an inexpensive tape recorder be purchased for the secretary, and Jan seconded.  The motion passed. The writer never made the point that he had taken Dr Bloomberg's Criminological Theory at FSU.

President Report:   No report.

Vice-President Report: Not present.  Shooting, archery, and tomahawk & knife scores were not available.  Comments were made that the Charlie leave the sheets for the scores so any one could deliver them, and that the scores be emailed to Bobby to put on the web site.

Secretary Report: Nothing to report after 10 minutes in post.

Treasure Report:  Robert Prior was paid $258 for construction material costs in building storage sheds.  Dave Ikenberry was paid $25 and credited $35 for dues for the same.  The current balance is $1,733.96 and there is about $440 to add from the lottery with a small brazier.  Also there are dues still to come in of $45 and $35.

OLD BUSINESS

Tall Timbers Wildlife Station:   This will be firearm  shooting and tomahawk & knife throwing for the open house day on 09-22-07, Saturday, at 8 AM.   Bring powder and ball with flints or caps.  We need more than just 4 loaders as this was a very popular activity.

Wildlife Heritage Day at St Marks Wildlife Refugee:  We will be doing the same here, with a table showing the club and its activities. The date is 02-02-08, but no time is available now.  Again this helps the club, so show up with shooting gear and throwing items.  Last year 4 showed with no shooting, and everyone was still busy.  We again need more people than 4 for the event.

Shed Construction: Four sheds were completed on the outside, with three having doors.  They still need planking or laps to cover the exterior sides.  What to cover them was not resolved.

North Eastern Rendezvous:  William and Will went to Middlesex, NY into the mountains, but they could not see the lake from the camp site.  It was cool and of course it rained.  The Rendezvous had about 750-800 there, and the Celtic games were good.   Smiley Joe stayed busy the whole time cooking for everyone, and everyone had fun.

Midwestern Rendezvous:  Charlie said Grandma Rita was Booshway with an all women staff by Arcola, IL, but this is Rita's 3rd rendezvous so she probably will not do another.  The rendezvous was fun, and was a good all around rendezvous.  The shooting matches were challenging by shooting lollipops, walnuts, and marshmallows at 15, 25, 50 and 70 yards, where a .64 caliber Hawken placed second.  Charlie also reiterated Rita's response to a camper's complaint of horse cookies outside his camp and where he could put them.  Jan went over the camp feed with Beans Root Beer and Brats.  William participated in the shooting including a woods walk.  The prizes were given out an hour after the event, and 2/3 of the camp came to the prize awards as you had to be there to claim them.

Squirrel Camp:  This will be the 1st weekend in  November, 11/8-11/07, and a flier will be forthcoming.  This is to be a homecoming, and a phone list will be split up to call everyone to get a large turn out.

Camp Rendezvous: William of course picked up some nice prizes for the club rendezvous at the other rendezvous, including a lamp, lead pot and ladle, unusual canteen, fire stakes set, wallet, 2 brooches, and a brass mould.  It was suggested that there be a memorial to Art at the feast with scotch rum and shot glasses.

NEW BUSINESS

Jackie Shaffer:  Jan said he gotten a call from Jackie Shaffer.  She is fine and is looking for a house to buy when she finally sells her old house here.

Wake for Art:  There was 40-54 at the wake that went until 9:30 PM.  Dave Anderson read remembrances.  Nancy thanked the club for all their support.

Jan motioned to close the meeting at 8:15 PM and John seconded and the vote was affirmative.
