Vice President’s report - Pat gave the shooting report.  Caplock won the rifle for the Club Rendezvous, while Leroy won smoothbore, and Burl took archery, but Roger and Craig tied for hawk, with Dana taking women’s hawk.  The 2 month period, had Ron winning for rifle, smoothbore ?, and Deni for archery, with Roger for hawk and Aston for Hawk children.

Secretary’s report - There was nothing to report..

Treasure’s report - We have $2080.52 on hand.  The Club Rendezvous auction received $1089.00, after expenses it looks like the club netted $1628.  The dues collection is going pretty well right now, and a news letter should go out after the SE Rendezvous.

OLD BUSINESS

Pat went over the Club Rendezvous.  Everyone had a really good time.  There were 57 paid campers, with $280 due being paid at the same time.  The medallions were very nice.  William wished to thank Roger for his hard work on the Rendezvous, and he probably worked too hard.  William said the prizes came in at the last second, and there was no time to plan adequately.  Pat said next time the prize situation will be straightened out with something like a silent auction or a display of items before the auction.   William pointed out many donated items came in 1 hour before the auction began, so the auction went on too long.  Buck and Deni took too long in getting through the auction, as there were so many more items than last time.

Writers note:  After 2-4 toasts to 2 deceased members, with many more informal ones after that, and this was just prior to the auction; the auction was going to be long and loud no matter who ran it.  Finally, if an auction is making good money at the end, the auction is NOT too long, although the happy souls outside the tent were not to vertical at the end.

Pat went on to say that we need to put away the benches and tables.  The garbage is still there to be picked up, and the wood stove needs to be taken back to William’s place.  Also the water tank needs to be emptied, so it will not need to be cleaned very year, and the targets need to taken to the club shed.

Dave I requested a work day on the Shoot Sunday to start at 9:00 AM at the rendezvous site.

Craig presented plaques for the shooting year of 2007.  Dave I won for hawk, Roger took archery, and Gary won for rifle.

Duane presented photos for the Tall Timber Hunter Safety Youth Day recorded to CDs by Tim the photographer, to all those that worked and loaded and helped the participants shoot.

Jan said Alan Bensley, the SE Representative for NMLRA, said he could not attend the Club Rendezvous, but thanked the club for the contributions to the Foundation for the SE Rendezvous and Events.

Pat went the members in our mailing list that were not active with Dave A and others.

John went over the pending Beau Turner Conservation Center Open House on 3-8-08 that starts at 10 AM to 3 PM..  He had a flyer and said there would be a small charge for lunch.  John said we would have an earth backstop, and would be holding balloons on clothes pins held by wires tied around a tie rod held up like our other metal targets.  We would store the balloon in a tent so they do not get blown away by the wind.  We will need ear protection, and Harbor Freights has ear plugs on sale in bulk.  We will also need shooting glasses.

Dave I mentioned that we could move forward on the idea to have a match with Tallahassee Rifle, and call Scott Pickett about doing that.  Remember the SE Rendezvous will be during our next meeting so we to change the meeting date.  Duane motioned we change the date of the meeting to 4-10-08, and Jan seconded.  The ayes were unanimous.

NEW BUSINESS

William said Scott Epps wants to be a member, and has his application and money with the necessary events. We needed 16 for a quorum, but had only 14 at the meeting.

William also said that some are trying to get Dade City, Florida as the site for 2009 SE Rendezvous, where they would like us to be the dog soldiers.  Dave A said we need a conditional yes if they get the Rendezvous, and there was a unanimous yes from the meeting members.  Gary brought up the 2010 SE Rendezvous, and our club doing it.  This is not a commitment, but determining how the club feels about doing another SE Rendezvous.  If no one steps up then it is up to us to step up.  Charlie is looking for sites, and Buck has volunteered to be the Booshway.  We would need a search site committee.  William thought NC would be great, if we could get some club to do the local work.  We would only need 30-40 acres.  Jan volunteered Lafayette, Georgia. He knows a person from Fish and Game there.  Dave I requested a straw ballot and Gary motioned with Gary seconding, and the ayes were unanimous except William who said, “Are you out of your mind”.  Robert said that getting some else to help do the local work further north would be great, and we show up to do the rendezvous.  The general point was to get the SE Rendezvous further north so more participants would attend as Florida is a long way for recreators to drive.  Dave I said the exploring is official.  Jan said time is of the essence.  Robert motioned that Buck be the Booshway and look into North Carolina.  Paty seconded, and the ayes were unanimous.  Dave A then said Buck could address the SE Rendezvous coming shortly.

Dave I motioned to close and Dave A seconded and the ayes were unanimous.

Craig did clean up.
