President’s report – Bob standing in for Dave I said the food was good.

Vice President’s report – Bob said there was noting to report.  Pat said she had a report.  Hawk and Knife winner was Ron. (Writer note: I assure everyone it was by default.)  Archery winner was Charlie, while Nancy won rifle.  There was no smoothbore.  The shoot will have rifle and pistol on Sunday.

Secretary’s report – Ron said that the picture selection is moving along for the bulletin board.  The board would be a picture board rather than words.  Bob said he had the stands, and to come get them

Treasure’s report – Bob said there was nothing to report.  Pat said she had the list of the new members.

OLD BUSINESS

Pat said she sent in the bid and budget for Blue Jacket to Joe Crimmins.  This consisted of Medallions on strap and plaques and horn.  The horn should be under $300.  Pat asked for a budget of $500.  Pete or Gerald Dukes can do the horn.

John needed a copy of the NMLRA letter for youth shooting.  He was informed to see Jan.

Pat asked about Hutch and Van memberships, as there is no application.  Ron stated he believed they were voted in as members when we receive the application and membership fees.

NEW BUSINESS

William said he had some cherry and oak wood that could be used for wood working for projects for things for the rendezvous.

William said that the hardwood that was left from the timber cutting on the land here is still on the ground, and needs to gathered, cut, and stacked.  Bob said the weather was still hot.  William also said the wood should be covered at the rendezvous site.  Ron said we could have a work day.  Bob said it could be 8-10-08 the shoot day or better in September on the shoot day.  As far as covering the wood that could be done this shoot date 7-13-08.

Ron said he had seen Jaime on the May 5th activity for the San Luis Mission.  He was riding his Florida cracker horse.  The horse looked great.  This was the horse that threw him.  The horse is still a stallion, but had a very mild temperament that day.  Jamie said he had settled down a lot.  Jaime said the doctors could go in and do a number of operations to put the damaged side of his chest back up to the level of the other side after breaking the collar bone, but that would be a lot pain and suffering, so when his body hurts from the stress, he just takes Tylenol or Motrin and gets by.  He said he is really busy with the Florida Cracker Horse Association, and was very happy to get the horse to be the Florida State Horse this year.  He has not had much time for rifle building the last few years.  Jamie went on the say that Scott Pickett had .28 caliber rifle barrels for sale for $120.  This caliber allows the use of shot, and one can shoot all day without costing much.

Bob said he had a 20 pound bag of shot if someone had the right caliber.

Roger brought up the problem of not having a meeting without a quorum.  William said that since the same people show up for work days, those people could just agree on when to show up without getting the club to approve the work day.  Buck felt we vote too much, and should have more executive action.  Robert said that committees do most of the work, so that should take care of that situation.

Bob mentioned we should adjourn now and cover the wood at the rendezvous site.

Buck motioned to end the meeting and John seconded, and it passed unanimously at 7:40 PM.

Roger did clean up.
