President’s report – Dave I had nothing to report.

Vice President’s report – Charlie said that Jan was first for rifle, while Charlie was first for archery and Roger was first for Hawk and Knife.

Secretary’s report – Ron had nothing to report.

Treasure’s report – Dave A did not attend.

OLD BUSINESS

Bob talked about the Beau Turner Youth Day Planning Dinner.  He said they had a good film denoting the progress made currently and the future directions.  There was a good crowd and dinner was great.  From the meeting John said he would attend with Ken, Bob, Dave I, Charlie, Duane, and Ron.  We can definitely use more.  Please be there about 8:30 AM.  Bring supplies to shoot at least 50 shots.

Pat went over the coming Club Rendezvous.  No work days were still necessary.  William will bring his big pavilion tent.  We will need about 7 people to put it up by holding the side walls above the dirt to keep the sides from being soiled.  Glenn got the hawk blocks.  Rodger will take care of the posts.  There will be no February club shoot as it will be at the Club Rendezvous.  Rita said the handicap parking will for handicap only.  There will be one emergency vehicle parked there.  William will have lanterns for the hooters.

The Blue Jacket Match was brought up again. Jan discussed the progress so far.  There would an overall winner through us, and the winners of the Rendezvous would be determined by the Boshways.  The targets from the winners will be examined and measured by us for the overall winner.  The National Office refuses to pay for a grand prize.  Pat and Jan said we should finance the grand prize for at least the first year.  Jan had earned enough money right now to pay for the grand prize from lead ball sales.  Pete had bid $250 for the horn and $280 with strap, and Gerald had bid $230 for the horn with $250 for horn and strap.  Jan also said we could cast some more balls and do it another time.  Ron added that learning to cast can help new members with the black powder shooting.  Cathy thought the National Office should pay.  Rita said Joe Crimmins thought the prize was too high, and bragging rights should be fine.  Duane said we have the ability so we should do it.  Charlie felt likewise, and felt that it should be noted in Muzzle Blasts about our contributions and that the horn and strap was provided by JLR.  Rita said Jennifer said that the National Office had set the procedures for the Boshways to score the match winner and send the shingles and information to us for the JLR to determine the overall match winner.  Jan said we have 2 members in the NRLHA, and we should do the work and not put this on them to make their jobs more difficult.  Dave I said we have the funding now, and we can produce more funding later as related by Jan.  Pat countered that we cannot count on getting the money every time.  Dave I said there would no club money spent and asked for a vote to endorse volunteers to do the work within the club.  Ron motioned and Rodger seconded and the ayes were unanimous except John voted nay.

The club again said we need to get William to Cheryl’s place to look it over.

Bob thought we could try casting at the Club Rendezvous.

Dave I was reminded of the conflict of schedule of the Southeaster Rendezvous and our club meeting and shoot in April.  Rodger motioned and Charlie seconded that we move the shoot date to 04-19-09.  The ayes were unanimous.  Duane motioned and John seconded that the club meeting for April be moved to 04-09-09.  The ayes were unanimous except Charlie voting nay, in honor of John.

Charlie reminded everyone that prepaid fees need to be at the National Office by 02-28-09 for the Southeastern Rendezvous.

NEW BUSINESS

Ron said we might get some possible new members at the Club Rendezvous, and they might need some period correct clothes.  Pat said that regular dress for guests was alright for day visiting, so the period correct attire was not needed.

Rita brought up the Ontonogan Mid West Primitive Rendezvous for 2010 in Michigan.  This is the first week in August of 2009.  This is as far North as you are going to get.  Tall ships also come to this Rendezvous as it on the shore of Lake Superior.  Two clubs with tall ships will come that year.  The Rendezvous site is 6 hours drive from Rita’s house.  She said she would have a place to camp if someone needed to stop over going north.  Jennifer will be there as well as Father Tom from Cornell, WI.  The town has it reunion the week before, or the last week in July, so the town is ready for the rendezvous.  Jan added that the people were just great the last time it was there, and the weather was wonderful.  The town really turns out for the event.  Rita says there not a lot going on in the part of the state.  The Rendezvous site is far north and rural so the nearest Walmart is a long ways away so plan ahead.  Rita said they made $6,000.00 in flatlander fees due to the popularity of the Rendezvous in the local area.

Bob and John said that the Sportsman Warehouse had supported the Club Rendezvous.  They have even donated a gun.  It may be a flintlock.  Ron said that for the raffle or auction we need to advertise the Sportsman Warehouse’s contribution to get members interested in supporting the store so they can to support us.

Dave I asked to end the meeting and motioned to close and Duane seconded.  The ayes were unanimous except John’s protest nay at 8 PM.

Jan did clean up.
