MEETING 04-09-09

Roger called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM.

Roll Call:  Duane, William, Gary, Ken, Jan, Bob, Ron, Roger, Dave A, John and Deni left early (proxy), and Terry late at 7:30 PM

Roger asked that the minutes be accepted, and Bob nominated and Ron seconded for acceptance.  The ayes were unanimous.

President’s report – Roger had nothing to report.

Vice President’s report – Roger was not there, but William said they did long range shooting for archery, and had a great time.  Duane had picked up Lori’s bow by mistake and had to really arch the bow.  William placed first.  For rifle it was Dave A, William, and Gary.  Duane won smooth bore.

Secretary’s report – Ron said with the cost of postage email may be a better way to send the welcome letter to new members.  William motioned to accept and Roger seconded, and the ayes were unanimous.

Treasure’s report – Dave A was given the new applications for the new members.  Dave A said we bought some flowers for Katheryn, and the total after depositing some renewal dues was $4608.53.  We still need rendezvous stories for the newsletter.  Dave A said he would send an email for the stories.  Dave A also said he would order powder.  William said nothing was available on the internet after Obama was elected, as every one is hording.

OLD BUSINESS

Duane said that even with all the problems of rain, the Southeaster Rendezvous made money, $2000.

Roger brought up the 2010 Southeastern Rendezvous.  William said that although it is a long time until fall 2010, the location and date should be a tremendous boost for the Southeastern Rendezvous.  This will bring in a lot more people, along with the gorgeous Yadkin valley, Boone’s old stomping ground.   The land owner is exited about the rendezvous.  Wade has been Boshway before and can manage the rendezvous.  If we get stability at 1-2 sites, things like port-o-lets, wood, and water, are just a phone call away.  There is no searching for a reliable provider.  The club wanted to get the flyer put on the website.  Ken said we have been trying to get the password for the website.  Ron said he would get with Bobby about posting it to the website.  Terry motioned that we get it on the website and Jan seconded.  The ayes were unanimous.

NEW BUSINESS

Roger said we needed another part work day to finish the clean up at the range, and suggested that we just show up ½ hour early on the shoot date to get that done.

Gary wondered what shape the back stop was in, and Duane and Ken said the back stop was in pretty good shape.

Ken added that we could cancel the shooting for June, July, and August.  Jan said we should cancel, but Duane said that pose problems for the rest of the year.

Jan said we could change the site for the meeting for June, July, and August.  We should not rotate it as people would get confused.  Duane said we could have them at Bob’s place.  William noted that Bob has not said yes yet!  Bob then said that the meetings at his garage would be ok.  Gary motioned the club accept Bob’s place for the June, July, August meetings and Gary seconded.  The ayes were unanimous.   William said that Bob has a grill, and Jan could bring the dogs and burgers.  Gary and Duane said we could modify a meeting or add a casting party, if all agree.  Roger said that Bob and Jan would handle the dinner.

Duane motioned to close the meeting and Ron seconded.  The ayes were unanimous at 7:50 AM.
