OLD BUSINESS

Dave I brought up the current shape of the target boards on the club range, and Roger, Ken, and Bob said they were still sound.

Jan said that Pete has been paid and Rita was given the horn and strap, which was the prize for winner the Blue Jacket Match.  There was still money in the shooting fund.

Bob said the price for lead right now was very good.  Dave I thought we should buy more lead, although we had about 70 pounds right now.  Bob said the price was 30 cents a pound.  Dave I though the club should have about two hundred pounds of lead, and maybe we could acquire some moulds.  Bob thought we had enough moulds.  Dave I mentioned that we might trade a youth club morning program at Beau Turner to shoot in the afternoon for the club.

Jan said the youth program should get going. We need that the Wildlife and Fish Commission to state that they will accept the NMLRA certification of range officers.  Kenny can help there.  Bob mentioned we could shoot with the rifle club on the third   Sunday of each month or help when they have their Boy Scout shoot day.  Dave I said we have a committee to examine this matter, and we should take this up in the fall.  Roger said that he would look into the San Luis Mission to see if they would like us to help.

NEW BUSINESS

Nancy said she had a friend who had a black powder rifle, and would like someone to contact him.  Roger volunteered.  He was given the phone number to James and Susan.  Nancy went on to say that we could form a net work to help with baby sitting, activities, and even home schooling.  This would generate a word of mouth that would generate new members.

Ken said that Edgar has to have an operation for bladder cancer as chemo-therapy would not work.  Jan remember that Edgar hosted a forger club event and fed 70-80 people.  That was the finest demonstration he had seen.  Edgar put a hole in the hot steel rather than wrapping it around a stake.

Jan requested that we mail the minutes to make sure Edgar and Jeanie receive the minutes, and though we should also send a letter mentioning we are thinking about him.

Jan said he would do dinner next month at Bob’s house, the last meeting there before we go back to the shoot site.  There may even be venison.

At 8:15 Dave I motioned to end the meeting and Jan seconded.  The ayes were unanimous.

Bob did clean up.
