The Jefferson Longrifles was founded in 1993, in keeping with the principals of the 2nd amendment's provision of the right to keep and bear arms. We hosted the 1995 and the 1998 National Southeastern Rendezvous, and have acted as Dog Soldiers at both the 2000 and 2002 Southeastern.
We also host our annual Club Rendezvous near the banks of the Ochlockonee River located at Grey Fox Farm in Tallahassee, Florida. This festive event includes a variety of competitive games and challenges, such as archery and black powder woods walks, hawk and knife throwing competitions, women's games of skill and children's games. The final evening of the 'vous culminates in a splendid camp feed for rendezvous participants, with a main course being a whole pig cooked on site in a huge pit full of coals. The evenings meal ends with a raffle drawing for many wonderful prizes which are made or donated by club members, including a black powder rifle.
